Before a Colonic

The day before your colonic, eat light – preferably fruits and vegetables. If you are comfortable with fasting, then a 24-hr fast prior to your appointment would be a fabulous way to receive a colonic. If not, then don’t worry about it.

The day of your colonic, eat a light breakfast and lunch, depending on your appointment time.

IMPORTANT : No food or water two (2) hours prior to your colonic.

After a Colonic

After your colonic, you will receive a mineral replacement fluid (cal/mag/phos) as well as intestional replenishment flora.

We suggest that clients partake in a 30-day acidophilus replacement after a series of colonics. While we believe the colonic will remove harmful bacteria, allowing the good bacteria to more easily populate and florish, we also recognize that everyone is different. We carry iFlora, which we feel is the best on the market. However, this is not a requirement and is a personal choice. If you need more information about good bacteria, we will provide you with more information post-colonic.

After a colon irrigation, it has been our experience at Serenity that it is important to:

Drink plenty of liquids – pure or filtered Water, fresh vegetable or fruit juices, herb teas, and electrolyte drinks.

Fortify with intestinal microflora (friendly bacteria) – call the office for more information about this.

Optimally eat soft food such as pureed soups for the first 24 hours after the colonic session.

Avoid eating raw vegetables for 2 days. Steamed vegetables and raw fruit are all right, but masticate (chew) thoroughly.

Reduce meat consumption for 3 days (heavy beef and pork).

Observe your body’s reaction to the colonic; food you eat and the energy you feel
Continue your exercise program, if any. Begin walking if you are not on a program.
Be aware of your breathing and your thoughts. Sometimes emotional energy is also moved during a colonic.

Follow proper food combining rules to reduce gas and aid digestion.

Take a detox bath the evening of your colonic. This will help continue the detox process by pulling toxins through the skin as well. Not to mention it is relaxing and part of being “good to yourself” Use baking soda or Epsom salts in tub of water. Or may use 1 cup raw apple cider vinegar in tub. This is incredibly important, as salt will conduct the “energy” within us and help pull out more stagnant lymph material. Do not overestimate the benefits of this very simple at-home health benefit.
